Our society is broken, and it will take strong creative minds to fix it.
The left is bent on fundamentally changing the principles America was founded on. America is the greatest country in the history of the world, and we should be proud of that. The guiding ideals of faith, family, and freedom are fundamental to our way of life and should be celebrated. The left seeks to demonize and divide our nation for the purpose of power. I cannot sit on the sidelines and watch as our country is destroyed.
I’m not a politician. I don’t want to go to Columbus to be part of the problem. I want to be a representative of Ohioans and to make our state an even better place to live and raise a family.
My experience is in the real world- dropping out of high school, working in heavy labor jobs, becoming a disabled American, raising my family, pursuing a college education, and helping my community. I believe Columbus needs down-to-earth representatives that have the same or similar life experiences as the people they represent.
In recent years, the rising prices of everyday goods and services have placed a heavy burden on average Ohioans. Bad economic policies and excessive government spending have led us down a path of record inflation. The average worker now struggles to afford housing due to the soaring cost of living.
To set things right, I propose straightforward economic policies for Ohio:
- Lower Income Tax: Implementing a gradual reduction in income tax rates and eventually eliminating it will empower Ohioans to keep more of their hard-earned money. This will drive consumer spending and encourage investment in our state.
- Transparent Spending: I advocate for better transparency in government spending. Ohioans deserve to know exactly where their tax dollars are going.
- Workforce Development: Investing in workforce development programs is crucial. Retraining workers for the ever-changing job market will create a responsive workforce, attracting major investments to Ohio.
Join us in building a stronger, more prosperous Ohio. Together, we can navigate these economic challenges and secure a brighter future for all.
The U.S. Border Patrol reported 1,659,206 encounters with people attempting to enter our country illegally at the U.S.-Mexico border last fiscal year, narrowly exceeding the prior high of 1,643,679 in 2000. It is estimated that over 11 million illegal immigrants currently reside in the U.S.
Unfortunately, our communities are grappling with an increase in crimes committed by illegal immigrants. In Hamilton County, we witnessed a tragic incident where an individual, deported from the U.S. seven times and arrested 11 times, illegally reentered the country and murdered a young Ohio woman.
However, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Toledo, due to its central location along major routes to cities and the U.S.-Canadian border, has become a hub for human trafficking.
To address this, I introduced HB 377: The Human Trafficking Prevention Act. This legislation aims to increase penalties for human traffickers, kidnappers, and abductors in Ohio. Our goal is clear: if you traffic people or harm our residents, you will face potential life sentences in our state. Let’s take a strong stance against illegal immigration, drug trafficking, and human trafficking to ensure the safety in our communities.
Moving forward as your State Representative, I am committed to ensuring the safety and security of our communities. While Ohio is not a traditional border state, we face unique challenges related to immigration enforcement. Law enforcement agencies, such as the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OHSP), play a crucial role in maintaining public safety. I will work to enhance collaboration between OSHP and federal agencies like the U.S. Border Patrol and U.S, Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE).
As your State Representative, I am dedicated to enhancing community safety and holding repeat offenders accountable for their actions. My top priorities include addressing the alarming levels of violence, shootings, and murders in Ohio.
That is why I introduced House Bill 522 which toughens penalties for repeat offenders who possess firearms unlawfully. We recognize that these individuals pose a significant risk to public safety and must be held accountable. By imposing stricter, decades long, sentences we aim to deter illegal firearm possession and violence on our communities.
Our criminal justice system should prioritize prosecuting violent offenders, repeat offenders, and sexually motivated offenders. By concentrating resources on investigating, apprehending, and prosecuting these offenders we can create safer neighborhoods for all Ohioans.
Ohio is leading the way in job creation and workforce development, becoming a top destination for major companies looking to expand or relocate. Our state’s low taxes and business-friendly environment have attracted significant investments, resulting in new opportunities for Ohioans across various industries.
In recent years, major corporations have increasingly committed to building and expanding their operations in Ohio. These companies recognize the value of our skilled workforce, bolstered by our state's commitment to workforce development and training. Ohio's proactive approach includes increased funding for vocational schools, ensuring that our workforce is equipped with the skills needed to thrive in today’s economy.
Moreover, the expansion of the Individual Microcredential Assistance Program (IMAP) eligibility to all Ohioans reflects our dedication to continuous learning and skill development. By making training and education more accessible, we are preparing Ohioans for the jobs of tomorrow, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate in our state’s growing economy.
Together, these efforts are not only creating jobs but are also laying the foundation for a stronger, more resilient workforce that can meet the demands of the future. Ohio is open for business, and our workforce is ready to lead the way.
Ohio is making historic strides in education, ensuring that every child has access to quality schooling regardless of their background or where they live. The expansion of the Fair School Funding Formula has brought a record increase in state funding to our public schools, providing the resources necessary to deliver a high-quality education to all students. This funding boost allows schools to reduce class sizes, enhance educational programs, and better support teachers, ultimately improving outcomes for Ohio's children.
In addition to strengthening our public schools, we are committed to offering families more choices in their children’s education. Increased funding for community schools (charter schools) is empowering these institutions to innovate and provide alternative educational opportunities that meet the diverse needs of students.
Furthermore, the expansion of the EdChoice voucher program now makes every student in Ohio eligible for a voucher to attend a private school, regardless of income level or socioeconomic status. This groundbreaking initiative ensures that all Ohio families have the freedom to choose the best educational path for their children, leveling the playing field and opening doors to success for every student.
With these transformative changes, Ohio is paving the way for an educational system that values every student, supports every school, and offers every family the opportunity to pursue the best possible education.
In Ohio, we believe that parents are the primary decision-makers when it comes to raising their children and determining the values they are taught. Our state is committed to preserving and expanding the rights of parents to guide their children's education and moral upbringing.
Through the expansion of our school choice programs, Ohio now empowers parents to choose the best educational environment for their children—not just based on academic performance, but also on the values and principles that align with their family’s beliefs. Whether parents prefer a public, charter, or private school, they now have the freedom to select a school that reflects their values and instills the morals they hold dear.
We recognize that schools are meant to educate, not indoctrinate. Ohio’s commitment to parental rights ensures that parents, not the government, are in control of what their children learn. By giving families the tools to make these important decisions, we are safeguarding the future of our children and preserving the integrity of education in our state.
In Ohio, education is about empowering students with knowledge while respecting the diverse values of the families we serve. We stand with parents, ensuring that their voices are heard and their rights are protected in every aspect of their children's education.
In Ohio, we are taking bold steps to reform our criminal justice system, ensuring that it protects our communities while also providing a path to redemption for those who have paid their debt to society. As your representative, I have introduced numerous bills in the Ohio House aimed at increasing penalties for the most heinous crimes, including human trafficking, sexual offenses, and violent crimes. These measures are designed to ensure that those who prey on others face the full force of the law.
At the same time, our approach to criminal justice recognizes the importance of second chances. For individuals who have served their sentences and demonstrated genuine rehabilitation, Ohio offers programs like the Certificate of Qualification for Employment (CQE) and the Certificate of Qualification for Housing (CQH). These programs help former offenders reintegrate into society by removing barriers to employment and housing, allowing them to contribute positively to their communities.
By balancing tough penalties for serious crimes with opportunities for redemption, we are creating a safer Ohio that values justice and offers a chance for a better future. Our criminal justice reforms reflect a commitment to both protecting our citizens and upholding the belief that, with the right support, individuals can turn their lives around and become productive members of society.
In Ohio, we stand firm in our commitment to protect the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. As your representative, I have introduced legislation to ensure that law-abiding citizens can exercise their Second Amendment rights without unnecessary government interference.
House Bill 233 is a critical piece of legislation that empowers individuals who have had to defend themselves. Under this bill, those who have legally defended themselves can present their case in a pretrial hearing, allowing the court to determine if they acted in self-defense before the case proceeds to trial. This measure protects citizens from being unjustly prosecuted for simply defending their lives and the lives of others.
Additionally, House Bill 522 is another step forward in protecting the rights of Ohioans. This bill makes it easier for individuals to seal their criminal records, which is essential for those who have turned their lives around and wish to regain their right to keep and bear arms. By streamlining the process, we ensure that more Ohioans have the opportunity to fully restore their rights and become responsible gun owners.
Together, these efforts reflect our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the rights of Ohioans to defend themselves and their families. We will continue to fight for the freedoms guaranteed to us by the Constitution, ensuring that every law-abiding citizen can exercise their right to bear arms.
